Effective Date – November 7, 2023

The site, orthsurg.com (“Site”) is owned and operated by ONS MSO, LLC d/b/a Spire Orthopedic Partners (“Spire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Website Cookie Policy is intended to tell users (“user(s),” “you,” or “your”) about our Site’s collection, use, and dissemination practices regarding information that users provide to us through our Site or the services offered therein (collectively, the “Services”). This Website Cookie Policy is incorporated into the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use by reference.

Cookies, Anonymous Identifiers, Web Beacons, and Other Internet Tracking Technology

As part of our overall operations, we store tracking technology on your browser to collect information. The information collected might relate to you, your preferences, your uses and actions, or your device, and is mostly used to make the Site perform and to provide a more personalized web experience and, sometimes, to provide targeted information to you. However, you can choose not to allow certain types of cookies. Choosing to opt out of certain cookies may impact your experience of the site and the services we are able to offer.

  1. We utilize Cookies, Anonymous Identifiers, Web Beacons, and other Internet tracking technology to collect information from a user’s computer, mobile, or other device.1
  • Cookies, Web Beacons, Anonymous Identifiers, and Tracking Technology.  We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use “cookies” and “web beacons” (also called “clear gifs” or “pixel tags”) and embedded scripts to obtain certain types of information when you use or access our Services. A “cookie” is a data file that is created and stored on your computer’s hard drive, memory, or web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser or equipment and to provide convenience and other features to you when you visit our Services.  Some cookies collect/contain personal information, some do not.  A “web beacon” is an object embedded into a web page or an e-mail that collects various data.  A web beacon is known by several common terms, such as a web bug, tag, page tag, tracking bug, tracking pixel, pixel tag, web pixel, targeting pixel, re-targeting pixel, and clear gif.  Web beacons are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be included on our Services for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Services, and to monitor how many visitors view our Services. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the device, web beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages or in e-mails.  When used within e-mail, for example, a web beacon can track whether a user opens a message, clicks on a link within the e-mail, and similar actions.  We also use other, similar Internet tracking technologies to monitor a user’s actions coming to our Services, moving through our Services, and after leaving our Services.  An “anonymous identifier” is a random string of characters that is used for similar reasons as cookies.  Examples of the information we collect and analyze in this manner include the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your equipment to the Internet; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; your browsing activities on our Services, as well as the URL you come from and go to next (whether this URL is on our site or not); and cookie number.
  • If you are concerned about the storage and use of cookies, you may block or limit the storage of cookies via browser controls or other software. We do not make any promise that our Services will recognize or be able to work with any such browser controls/software – e.g., see below for Do Not Track options.  You may also be able to delete cookies manually from your computer through your internet browser, operating system, or other programs.  Please note, however, that some portions of our Services will not function properly or be available if you are able to and do block and/or delete cookies.

2. How We Use Tracking Technology

We use cookies and other tracking technologies to track how our users access and use our Services, to learn when and how users visit the Services, to make personalized features and other services available to users, to learn which terms are used, to learn which websites direct users to our Services, to compile and analyze aggregate statistics and trends, and to otherwise help administer and improve the Services.  We also use tracking technologies to help display certain information on the Services and to improve your enjoyment and convenience when using or visiting our Services; for example, by remembering your contact and other information when you access or use the Services. We also use these devices to facilitate login and access actions to enter a user account.  For more information on how we use the information we gather from our users’ activity on the Services, please see our Privacy Statement.

  • Essential Cookies. These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but doing so will cause some parts of our Site not to function properly. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
  • Personalization Cookies. These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization, such as your username, language, or the region you are in. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly.
  • Analytics Cookies. These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site, as well as detect technical issues. All information these cookies collect is anonymized and aggregated. If you do not allow these cookies, then we will not know when you have visited our Site, and we will not be able to monitor its performance.
  • Targeted Cookies. These cookies may be set through our Site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to track your browser across other sites and build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertising or messaging on other sites. They are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device.  If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
  • Please be advised that this Cookie Policy does not govern the use of third-party websites or services or providers of third-party services.

3. Change Settings From Within Your Browser

Our Cookie acceptance form makes it easy for you to enable and disable all non-essential cookies, however, it may not prevent all cookies from other websites being sent to your computer, mobile, or other device.  To do this, you may want change your settings from within your browser by going to the “help” function on most browsers.  If you choose to have your browser refuse cookies, then it is likely that some areas of the Services will not function properly when you use them.

The instructions for these vary from browser to browser and they may change from time to time as new versions are released.

Opting Out. If you do not wish to participate in preference-based advertising via third-party advertising networks, go to www.aboutads.info and follow the simple opt-out process. A couple of important notes about this opt-out tool: (1) it includes all the advertising networks that we may work with, but also many that we do not work with; and (2) it may rely on cookies to ensure that a given advertising network does not collect information about you (“Opt-out Cookies”) – an explanation of how Opt-out Cookies work can be found on www.aboutads.info. Therefore, if you use different computers, change web browser, or delete these Opt-out Cookies, you will need to perform the opt-out task again.

Do Not Track Features. Certain browsers may offer you the option of providing notice to websites that you do not wish for your online activities to be tracked for preference-based advertising purposes (“DNT Notice”). Some browsers are, by default, set to provide a DNT Notice, whether or not that reflects your preference. Unfortunately, given how preference-based advertising works, DNT Notices may not be effective in communicating your preferences.

If you have any questions or concerns about our use of Cookies and other tracking technologies, please send us an e-mail at website@spireortho.com.  To learn more about our Privacy Statement, please read the statement here.
